"Arts for Mental Health (ARTSMH) is a non-profit student-led society. We empower students with the skills and experience to better understand their mental health through the arts. We have enriched the university experience of over 400 students through 16 events and 2 evidence-informed art programmes with external charities.

The UCL ChangeMakers 2021-22 fund supported an online programme on destigmatising students' mental health through the arts, which involved providing psychoeducation material through academic talks, blogs, and reflective, expressive, collaborative art workshops. 70% of students reported being very satisfied with significant improvements in mental well-being (e,g, anxiety, worry, insomnia).

In 2023, ARTSMH was further supported by the UCL ChangeMakers Continuation Fund to:

1)Sustain the good work and

2) Widen student engagement beyond the Institute of Education

We grew our ARTSMH committee from merely 4 founding members to 18 members and 5 volunteers across 3 faculties. In February alone, 135 students attended our events: 95% reported feeling "more relaxed" post-event and 870 new individuals globally have visited our website. Data collected will continue to inform ARTSMH's future practice. We thank our supervisor Dr Keri Wong and UCL for their continuous support without which growth and progression would not be possible."
